Dear Parents,

At Primary School we believe in the importance of fully educating our students and teaching them various ways of acquiring knowledge that will enable a lifetime of learning. We make this possible in a student centered education environment, which emphasizes self confidence, encourages continual learning, problem solving and taking risks. Primary School at Büyük Kolej consists of three sections: Kindergarten, Level 1 and Level 2.Kindergarten and 1st Grades of Level 1 are located in an additional building that has been constructed according to this age group 's special needs. In this building there is also a Macintosh computer lab with Internet access, Nedime Education Hall, an indoor playground and a traffic-training path with battery-operated cars. The school garden 's base is made up of a special substance that minimizes injuries in case of possible accidents.

Classes in Kindergarten are mainly carried out by the homeroom teacher whereas creative drama, computer, ceramics, chess, physical education, art, and music classes are applied by branch teachers. English courses supported with computers and audiovisual equipment are carried out by Turkish and American teachers.

In Primary School Level 1, for four years, from 1st to 4th Grade, the basic education is carried out by the homeroom teacher. This education program is formed according to Ministry of Education's official curriculum and supported by our schools Program Development Unit and project based education studies. Individuals are educated in classrooms for maximum 24 students in the best contemporary way, making use of the latest technology. From second grade on the classes are located in the main building, giving our students the chance to use specially designed education areas such as two fully equipped PC computer labs, two science labs, a library, music rooms and art ateliers effectively.

In Level 2 (5th,6th,7th and 8th Grades), in addition to English, our students are introduced to a second foreign language. By choosing German or French, they become individuals who can speak at least two foreign languages by the time they graduate from 8th Grade. In 2nd Level courses, the classes are supported with the latest technology and laboratories are used effectively. Knowing the importance of application in learning Math and Science, Büyük Kolej presents areas designed especially for this purpose to its students use.

By reflecting the cultural diversity of our school's foreign students on education, an educational environment with different cultural characteristics is created. Our students benefit from Ankara 's social and cultural opportunities throughout the year. They participate in many field trips, given the chance to learn by experience.

The students of Büyük Kolej Primary School are given an excellent guidance service by professional psychologists and psychological consultants. Not only our students, but also parents and teachers benefit from the studies carried throughout the school year by the Student Guidance and Consultancy Service. Knowing the emotional, social and psychological problems our students suffer, they are watched closely and supported fully by our professional Student Guidance and Consultancy staff.

At Büyük Kolej, where education is supported by social and cultural activities, our students get the chance to discover their talents and interests by participating in art, sports or science clubs, encouraging team work and project development activities.
